Yesterday I was watching Oprah and they announced that Brad Pitt was going to be on the show today.

So…

What do you think about the whole Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jennier Aniston thing?  What team are you on?

Okay, I know its a cheesy question but whatever…

My answer:  I love Jennifer Aniston!  I think that they has been very gracious in keeping her mouth shut about what actually happened with her marriage.  I think it’s great that Brad and Angelina give so much to charity but I would hope that if I could afford it I would do the same as well.

Getting Through The Holidays

Published by lindsay under Uncategorized

We all know how busy Thanksgiving and Christmas can be!  And even the best Glamorous Housewife can become overwhelmed.  So here are a few tips and ideas to make your holidays go by more smoothly.

1.)  Make List!  I love list!  I will write down every present I get for Ryan, Joe, and whoever I am buying for.  This way I know exactly what I have and I don’t have to constantly keep thinking “What else do I need to get?”  You can also make a list of the things you need to get or make for Thanksgiving.  If everything is written down it will give you a little piece of mind knowing that everything is under control (well maybe not under control but it’s at least on the list).

2.)  Give yourself a couple days before each holiday to relax.  This way you are ready to go and be running once everyone arrives.  Maybe even spend a day getting a mani/pedi and a new hair cut.

3.)  Eat!  Who cares about Weight Watcher points on Thanksgiving!  Consider it a point free day : )

4.)  Get your husband and kids involved.  Your kids will love putting up decorations, setting the table, and greeting everyone as they come in.  Your hubby will love (maybe not love) helping you in the kitchen, looking after the kids to give you time to prepare, and run to the store to get all the things that you forgot.

5.)  Try to have a little more patience.  With a lot of company in the house or while visiting things can become crowded, loud, and sometimes awkward.  And your kids may either become shy or become more hyper that you ever have seen them before.  Probably more hyper which is a patience tester especially when there are other kids around for the holidays that are just as hyper!

6.)  Don’t sweat the small stuff.  Who cares if Aunt Betty was suppose to cook Sweet Potatoes but ended up bringing ten gallons of Ice Tea instead.  Just roll with it.  What else can you do?

7.)  Remember to be thankful that you have a family to spend the holidays with.  It’s so easily taken for granted and even when chaos is erupting in your living room be thankful that you have people around you to create it.

I hope this helps!  And if not you can always schedule and extra appointment with your therapist.

At Home Gym

Most Glamorous Housewives don’t have the time or energy to go to a gym everyday to work out.  So why not bring the gym to you?  There are so many great things that you can get from Wal-Mart or Target that will give you a great work out and help you get that extra weight off.

The Stability Ball

This is a wonderful tool for doing exercises in your home!  You can do all sorts of stuff on this including crunches, leg lifts, yoga, and weight exercises.  Plus it makes for a wonderful chair for your living room : )

A good pair of shoes!

No matter what kind of exercising you do a good pair of shoes are a must have!  Bad shoes can hurt your feet and even injure you.  If you know what kind of exercising you are going to be doing you can easily find a good shoe for it just make sure that if you run you get running shoes or if you are just walking you get just walking shoes.  It does make a difference!

The Step Exercise!

This is a killer!  I have one and within five minutes I am already sweating and seeing spots.  I don’t know how many calories it burns but I can tell you that this is a wonderful workout!  It works your legs, thighs, butt, and even your abs!  And there are some DVD exercises that you can get to get an even better work out!

The Classic Treadmill

Otherwise know as my rainy day BFF.  Treadmills are wonderful for walking or running.  And the way they are made today they don’t take up too much space because you can fold them up and roll them into a corner.  They also tell you your calorie burn and distance walked.  They are the most expensive thing on this list but so worth the money.  Check out Wal-Mart for the best prices.

Walk Away The Pounds!

If you can’t afford or just don’t want to spend the money on a treadmill I suggest you trying out this DVD workout.  It’s an in home walking work out that will not only help you lose weight but it will also help you tone up any problem areas.  It’s not boring because they include different steps to use for the work out!  And for a price of only about $20 at Target or Wal-Mart why wouldn’t you check it out?

What are some of your favorite work out tools?
